Griesbacher mineral water comes from the depths of the Black Forest. The company Winkels Beverage Logistics was founded in 1930 by Erwin Winkels, who produced soft drinks and fruit juices in the Durlach district of Karlsruhe. In 1935 he tapped his first mineral water spring in Bad Griesbach in the Black Forest . Further mineral springs were put into operation in 1964 in Spielberg and in 1972 in Sersheim (alwa mineral spring). Retroactively as of January 1, 2011, Winkels took over the Pro-Getränke Group. In October 2011, Winkels took over Rietenauer Mineralquellen GmbH. In 2018, Winkels, together with the subsidiary GGS, took over the business of the traditional Stuttgart company Benz-Weine GmbH & Co. KG and the majority in the beverage wholesaler Schmitt GmbH & Co.
