The company was founded in 1931 by Hans Strauch and remained in family hands until 2000. In the same year, the company was then taken over by the Mannheim- based Actris AG of SAP co-founder Dietmar Hopp. Company was sold to the former sales director Ronald Schork and the Mannheim lawyer Andreas Schmidt. Andreas Schmidt has been the sole managing partner of the traditional Heppenheim-based company Odenwald-Quelle since January 1, 2014.
