It is from Licht Quelle source, one of the 6 sources of St. Leonhards. The St. Leonhards company sells nine different varieties from six different sources in the region. According to legend, in 1734 Christoph Riel, who was plagued by various ailments, discovered the power of the St. Leonhardsquelle. Before that, St. Leonhard had appeared to him in a dream and advised him to enjoy this special water. Abfalter family took over the business in 1996. Johann Abfalter rediscovered the historic St. Leonhardsquelle in the Bavarian town of Stephanskirchen near Rosenheim.
