The mythical Mount Teleno was first exploited by the Romans, who gave it the recognition of a god by dedicating it to Mars Tilenus. It was used to collect water from its peaks and transfer it through a hydraulic network of canals, part of which are visible today, to the Las Médulas gold mines. The benefits of this mineral water were known by the residents of the Valduerna region, who came as if it were a pilgrimage site, loaded with containers to store their mineral water. It was around the 1980s when the exceptional chemical composition of our water was verified, very low in dry residue, but it was not declared mineral water until the 1990s.
