Product of Germany
The Steinsieker spring has its source between the Teutoburg Forest and the Wiehen Mountains, near Löhne in Westphalia. The rock strata occurring here form the geological prerequisite for the formation of the rare calcium sulphate water type. As early as 1850, the mineral water from Steinsiek/Löhne was known for its mild, healing effects. The natural medicinal water was used for medicinal baths and drinking cures. In the small town of Steinsiek there was a typical Westphalian farmers bath, which was called Bad Steinsiek. Guests often came to Bad Steinsiek on the recommendation of a doctor to take advantage of the spa and bathing opportunities there. Soon the water from the Steinsieker spring was bottled in order to make it accessible to a larger group of consumers. In 1958, the baths were closed and a mineral and healing spring operation was established on the site of the former farmers bath.
