The company was founded in the early 1970s when Richard Rieder acquired the Aubad springs near Matzen Castle and began exploiting them commercially. It was first mentioned in 1611 and officially listed as spas under Empress Maria Theresia. The Tiroler Quelle mineral water comes to light at the foot of the Alpbach valley in Tyrol. The local Aubad springs have been known since the Middle Ages. At that time, mineral water was not only used as a thirst quencher, but also for bathing and drinking cures. The natural mineral water from Tiroler Quelle has been bottled here since 2007.
