Its water springs from the outskirts of Herrera del Duque, which is part of a large nature reserve that enjoys special protection for its ecological value. The rivers, reservoirs and swamps are one of the main characteristics of La Siberia Extremena. Nestle Aquarel is located in the region owhich was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2019.
