The origin of the Plöchl beverage house goes back to the 1930s, when the grandfather of the current company owner, the farmer Ludwig Plöchl, started making Kracherl as a part-time job. At that time, every single bottle was still filled by hand and a team of dogs served as a means of transport for delivering to customers. Ludwig Plöchl continued making lemonades after returning home from captivity in 1947. At the beginning of the 1950s, a partnership was formed that has shaped the renowned company to this day. It was the connection with the house of Wild and the brand Libella.
