The springs and bottling factory of the Römerquelle mineral water are located in Edelstal in Burgenland on the so-called small thermal bath line. The springs were already known in Roman times and are artesian . The springs were rediscovered in 890. Commercial use of the water began in 1925 and a spa was built in Edelstal in 1932. In 1965 the spring was also officially recognized as a healing spring.
