The home of mineral water is located in Osterode, lies between the southern Harz Karst Mountains and the Lerbach Valley. After an accidental discovery of the source in 1957 by the Peinemann family, it turned out that it was the finest mineral water with a very high proportion of natural calcium and magnesium content, which is due to the special geological composition of the rock strata of the Harz Mountains. It bubbles up from the depths of the Harz Mountains. Grafenquelle water comes from five separate springs.
