Pastor Sebastian Kneipp, who was studying in Dillingen in 1845, healed himself from severe pulmonary catarrh with the Bissingen springs, which were already known at the time. The pharmacist Max Premauer examined and analyzed artesian wells in the area and discovered the Bissinger Auerquelle in 1906. The water is pumped from a depth of 342 m, over 10,000 years old and free from harmful environmental influences.
